Open House brings locally placed refugee families to KIE
On January 24th, dozens of refugee families came to the West Duke Building for an Open House event for the MASTERY refugee youth tutoring program and SuWA, a new effort to support and provide services for local refugee women. Both of the programs are student-led, with roots in the community engagement components of the DukeImmerse: Uprooted/Rerouted program. The students build community partnerships with local families to support refugee families that are placed in Durham.
