Is Seminary a Spiritual Sanctuary or a Cemetery?

The Duke Clergy Health Initiative welcomes David Wang, Ph.D., an associate professor of psychology and pastoral counseling at Biola University, to Duke Divinity School.

Prof. Wang will discuss challenges and recent developments in the assessment of the spiritual, character, and moral formation of seminary students during a public lecture at noon on Thursday, Nov. 14 in 0014 Westbrook. All are welcome, and free pizza will be served.

A licensed psychologist, Prof. Wang is also the editor of the Journal of Psychology and Theology and serves on the editorial board for Spirituality in Clinical Practice (an APA journal). He is principal investigator of the Seminary Formation Assessment Project, a research program funded by the Templeton Foundation.

Prof. Wang’s visit is co-sponsored by the Seminary to Early Ministry Study, the Arete Initiative at the Kenan Institute for Ethics, and the Center for Christianity and Scholarship.
