Announcing the winner of the #EthicsStorytime contest
Throughout the month of November, KIE held a contest in which participants were asked to take a fairy tale, folk tale, or bedtime story of any sort and point out an ethical conundrum for a chance to win a fabulous prize — lunch in April with KIE Distinguished Lecturer Teju Cole and a gift certificate to their favorite Durham eatery. The answers ranged from Little Red Riding Hood and Stop & Frisk to Humpty Dumpty and pre-existing conditions, but we had to choose a winner, so…
Our runner-up made it a very hard choice:
@KenanEthics Snow White breaks into house, dwarves are then forced to care for her in vegetative state. Is this right? #EthicsStorytime

But, First Place has to go to:
@KenanEthics Beauty and the Beast: a story of love or an unethical hostage situation leading to Stockholm Syndrome? #EthicsStorytime

Congratulations to Nonie, who won a spot at lunch with our distinguished lecturer, Teju Cole and a gift certificate for dinner in Durham!
