David Tierney

David Tierney joined the Kenan Institute for Ethics as a Research Assistant in July 2022. He is an undergraduate student at Duke pursuing a Global Cultural Studies degree through the Program in Literature. Outside of school, he is a travelling member of Duke’s varsity fencing team, helping the team win the ACC championship title in 2021. He is also a DJ and committee member at WXDU, Duke’s campus radio station, and serves as the station’s Music Director as of Spring 2022. He is otherwise involved with music on campus through Duke Coffeehouse, a student-run concert venue and study space, where he was hired in Spring 2022. In the summer of 2022, he participated in a Story + humanities research project working with Duke’s musical instrument collection.
