Kenan Global Human Rights Scholar selected for Rhodes Scholarship

Duke University senior Laura Roberts was among the 32 recipients recently selected for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship. Roberts is a Kenan Global Human Rights Scholar and Lowell Aptman Prize finalist. Originally from Dallas, she is majoring in history and double minoring in religion and political science. Roberts is also involved with Duke International Relations Association, WISER, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the undergraduate Student Advisory Board at the Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute. Her specific interests in human rights concern women’s rights and international law.

She was chosen from among 869 applicants at 316 colleges and universities throughout the country. The scholarships provide all expenses for two or three years of study at the University of Oxford in England. Read more at Duke Today.
