Transitional Justice in the 21st Century: Current Developments and Challenges

David Tolbert will discuss current developments and challenges in the field of transitional justice, providing examples from his work in Colombia, Tunisia, and other contexts. He will share his insights into where the field of transitional justice is heading in the current difficult and challenging political context.

This talk will be moderated by Professor Aya Fujimura-Fanselow, Senior Lecturing Fellow and Supervising Attorney, Duke International Human Rights Clinic. The program is part of the Human Rights in Practice series, which is co-sponsored by the International Human Rights Clinic and the Center for International and Comparative Law. This event is also co-sponsored by the Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute; the Duke Human Rights Center at the Kenan Institute for Ethics; the Human Rights Law Society; and, the International Law Society.
