The Ethics of Now with Michael Schur

October 14, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Ethics of Now with Adriane Lentz-Smith. Emmy-winning writer and creator of "The Good Place" Michael Schur on What's so funny about the quest for moral perfection? Friday, October 14, 2022, 7:00pm, Nasher Museum of Art. dukeethics.org. Kenan Institute of Ethics at Duke University logo. Image of Michael Schur in collared shirt and sweater, smiling, in black and white against a red brick background.

As the creative force behind shows like “Parks and Recreation” and “The Good Place,” Mike Schur has a gift for crafting communities of people flawed, absurd, and utterly endearing. His book shows the same perspicacity and generosity, while offering the funniest Moral Reasoning 101 class you’ll likely ever take.

Join Duke History professor Adriane Lentz-Smith for a conversation with Schur on what’s so funny about the quest for moral perfection.

Please note that this event takes place at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University.

Admission to the museum is free, and guests are welcome to visit the galleries before the event. They will remain open from 5 p.m. until the event is over.

The doors to the lecture hall open at 6:45pm. Seating is first come, first served.

A light reception and book signing will follow the event.
