Cancelled // Get on the Bus – National Farmworker Awareness Week.
March 23, 2020 - March 29, 2020
Cancelled
Get on the Bus, a week-long program highlighting NC farmworkers’ stories, will be hosted from March 23 – March 29 during National Farmworker Awareness Week (NFAW) at Duke University, the NC Farmworker Institute, and Durham community nonprofit, El Futuro, to bridge communities through conversations about those who harvest our food in North Carolina.
The program features an interactive Bus Sculpture created from a retired school bus by artist Sally Jacobs, designed to foster stories from rural and urban visitors alike. The bus’s exterior features large photographs, an indigenous design, and a mural. The interior presents multimedia narratives, a creative concepts space, and a community board.
