Community Forum on the Trump Administration and Higher Education: What Does This Mean for Duke?

March 5 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Flyer for Community Forum on the Trump Administration and Higher Education: What Does This Mean for Duke?

In the short time since President Trump has taken office, higher education has been confronted with significant changes and challenges. From diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and the status of immigrant and international students to funding cuts and grant cancellations, little about higher education’s future seems certain. Students, faculty, staff, and administrators must all navigate the evolving political landscape.

How has Duke University been impacted by these upheavals? On Wednesday, March 5, hear from Duke representatives across the University who will reflect on the consequences for their areas. Speakers will touch on a wide range of issues, including undergraduate scholarships, academic freedom, faculty research, and global health programming. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A. A light dinner will be served.

This event is organized by the project on Democracy and the Politics of American Higher Education at the Kenan Institute for Ethics.
