Author Norman Wirzba in Conversation with Saskia Cornes, Christine Folch and Dirk Philipsen

October 29, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Join author Norman Wirzba in conversation with Saskia Cornes, Christine Folch, and Dirk Philipsen in celebration of the release of his new book, “This Sacred Life: Humanity’s Place in a Wounded World” (Cambridge University Press, 2021). “This Sacred Life” explores how despair in the face of a wounded and dying world is prompting many to ask about the meaning and value of all life. Climate change, transhumanism, rampant social and economic injustice—these are some of the signs that indicate profound confusion about the purpose of human endeavor. This book talk will explore how recovering the sacred character of this life repositions people to be agents for the transformation and healing of this world. The conversation will be followed by a reception on the Bovender Terrace at Duke Divinity School, catered by Zweli’s Café.
