The Team

 




Sarah Bartleson is a senior Religion major also pursuing an Ethics Certificate. She as been part of Team Kenan since it began in the fall of 2009. Sarah works in many capacities as part of TK, but she’s the project leader for What Is Good Art? When not working on WIGA, she’s often thinking about how religious life integrates with general student life in her capacity as president of the Undergraduate Faith Council.




Jamie Bergstrom is a sophomore from Michigan. Last year, she was enrolled in the Institute’s Focus cluster and then took part in Duke Immerse Uprooted/Rerouted in the spring. She joined TK at the end of last spring and mostly works on design and discussion series.




Jane Chen is a sophomore from Chapel Hill, NC. She was selected for Project Change in the summer of 2011. She’s been part of Team Kenan since the fall of 2011. Jane works chiefly on Do Lunch and other discussion series.




Chandra Christmas-Rouse is a first year from Maryland. She was part of Project Change this past summer. She’s been part of Team Kenan since the fall of 2012. Chandra is really interested in campus engagement including TK Couch, and she’s looking forward to helping to organize the next TK Challenge event.




Nicole Daniels is a junior Cultural Anthropology major and Project Change alum. In the spring of 2012, she spent several weeks in Nepal as part of DukeImmerse Uprooted/Rerouted and was part of the Focus cluster in the fall of 2011. She joined Team Kenan in the spring of 2011.




Lucy Dicks-Mireaux is a sophomore from the Washington, D.C. area. She’s been part of Team Kenan since the spring of 2012 and mostly works with Encompass and What Is Good Art?




Avery Fox is a junior from Tampa, FL. She’s also a former PChanger (class of 2010) and has been a member of Team Kenan since the fall of 2010. Avery is majoring in public policy, and is studying abroad in the fall of 2012.




Jacob Golan is a junior majoring in Botanical and Geological Systems. He’s worked with Encompass for the past three years, and is now co-editor-in-chief. He hails from Long Island, NY.




Sarah Gordon is a senior Sociology major and joined Team Kenan in the fall of 2010. She’s from Greenwich, Connecticut and have been working as part of Encompass and The Devil’s Dilemma. In addition to working with TK she is very involved in the Service-Learning Department at Duke. And she really like fuzzy socks.




Sadhna Gupta is a senior Public Policy major who enjoys traveling, civic engagement, and Duke basketball. She is passionate about international sustainable development issues and spent two summers doing community work in Kenya, before interning for the U.S. Congress. Sadhna is one of the original members of Team Kenan and a Project Change alum. As a 2012 Kenan Summer Fellow, she explored the Hindu religious identity of Bhutanese refugee families who have resettled in the US.





Bethany Horstmann is a senior Public Policy major and 2009 Project Change alumna. She’s also working on a certificate in the Ethics Certificate Program. Bethany is very involved in Model UN and Duke Organizing and have been part of Team Kenan since the beginning in 2009. She’s originally from Fairfax, VA, though she spent last fall in Glasgow, following a summer participating in DukeEngage Dublin. Bethany is in the second semester of her term as Encompass co-editor-in-chief.




Kristian King is a senior from Atlanta, GA pursuing an Ethics Certificate. She joined TK in the spring of 2012.





Chad Liu is a senior Biomedical Engineering major from Auburn, AL. He spent the end of the summer of 2011 working as a student leader for Project Change, and was in Ireland as part of DukeEngage Dublin the previous summer. He’s been part of Team Kenan since the fall of 2009 and was also in the PChange class of 2009.





Brian Luo is a sophomore Mathematics major from Maryland. He was part of Project Change in the late summer of 2011 and was selected to help lead the program this year. He joined Team Kenan in the fall of 2012.




Emily McGinty is a senior from Pittsburgh, PA. In the Institute’s orbit since taking part in Project Change in 2009, she has often been involved with Team Kenan, but officially became part of the team this fall. She was instrumental in helping to plan last springs Eat Your Ethics event. Emily is a Baldwin Scholar and very involved with Duke’s Campus Farm, and food issues in the Research Triangle more generally.





Leonard Ng’Eno is a senior Economics/Computer Science major from Kenya. An alum of PChange 2009, Leonard blogs frequently for The Devil’s Dilemma and works on sundry other projects as part of TK.





Nathan Nye is a senior English and Women’s Studies major from the NC coast. He’s been part of TK since the beginning in 2009. He’s been very involved with Project Change over the years, participating in 2009 and serving as a leader in both 2010 and 2012. Nathan is TK’s resident design guru, but has been involved with just about every project at one time or another, mostly discussion series and What Is Good Art? Nathan is really busy this year as he is very involved with many campus organizations and is president of Duke University Union.





Nihir Patel is a junior from San Francisco, California majoring in neuroscience and economics. He is a former PChanger (class of 2010) and PChange leader (2011), and has been a member of Team Kenan since the fall of 2010.





Gayle Powell is a freshman from Connecticut, who is brand new to Duke and to TK. She joined at the beginning of this year. In addition to Team Kenan, she is also taking part in the Institute’s Focus cluster.




Phil Reinhart is a freshman from Ohio, who joined Team Kenan at the beginning of this year. He’s also taking classes in the Focus cluster.




Neha Sabharwal is a senior Public Policy major from California. She’s one of the original members of TK, starting in the fall of 2009 after a stint in Project Change. Neha’s programming focus with Team Kenan has always been creating spaces for discussions about ethics on campus, which she continues to do. She is also a vice chair of the Duke Honor Council.




Julie Stefanich is a junior from Rochester, NY. An alum of the Ethics, Leadership, and Global Citizenship Focus cluster, Julie has spent much time thinking and working on migrant and refugee issues, as part of DukeEngage Dublin and most recently as part of DukeImmerse Uprooted/Rerouted. She joined Team Kenan in the fall of 2011, and she is studying abroad this fall.




Nikita Yogeshwarun is a sophomore majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology and Art. A PChange 2011 alum, she’s been part of Team Kenan since fall of 2011. Niki is studying in New York this semester, but when she’s around she mostly works on What Is Good Art?




Grace Zhou is a senior Public Policy major also pursuing a certificate in Global Health and a Spanish minor. While she used to live in Cleveland, she now calls New York City home. She is involved with debate at Duke and has been a member of Team Kenan since spring 2010, for which she is an avid blogger.
