How to Apply
Grant applications should be concise and should include full details of your plans. Submissions will be evaluated by a Selection Committee of Institute staff based on the following criteria:
- Evidence of Project Need - 10%
- Merit and Quality of Project Description - 15%
- Promotion of Ethical Deliberation and Dialogue - 30%
- Alignment to the Institute Priority Areas - 5%
- Adequate Plan for Evaluation/Sustainability - 15%
- Publicity of Event & Results - 10%
- Program Budget - 15%

Applications for these grants are reviewed twice each academic year. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Deadlines for the fall and spring cycle are October 1 and February 15. Applicants will be notified of the status of their request in mid-October and early March.
Organizations already receiving ongoing and sustaining support from the Kenan Institute for Ethics are not eligible to apply for these grants. An organization (or representative thereof) or individual may receive only one grant in any given academic year.
