Mari Armstrong-Hough is a Research Assistant at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University. She works with Suzanne Shanahan and Fiona Terry on the Refugee Health Working Group. Prior to coming to the Institute in 2009, she was a Visiting Researcher at Okayama University in Okayama, Japan, where she conducted fieldwork for her dissertation on the practice of evidence-based medicine in non-western cultural contexts. She received her B.A. with comprehensive honors in political science, history, and sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, and is currently a PhD candidate in sociology at Duke University.
