Noah Pickus is Nannerl O. Keohane Director of the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University and Associate Research Professor of Public Policy Studies at Duke University. An American Council on Education Fellow, he serves as vice-chair for Strategic Planning at Duke, chairs the curriculum group of the Liberal Arts in China Committee and the Academic Integrity Council, and co-chairs the Duke-UNC Keohane Visiting Professor Committee. He co-directed the Brookings-Duke Immigration Policy Roundtable and is the author of True Faith and Allegiance: Immigration and American Civic NationalismBecoming American/America Becoming, and Immigration and Citizenship in the 21st Century. Prior to joining the Kenan Institute for Ethics, he was the founding director of the Institute for Emerging Issues and taught at Duke and at Middlebury College. He has held fellowships from the Thomas J. Watson Foundation, the A.W. Mellon Foundation, and the H.B. Earhart Foundation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan and a doctorate in politics from Princeton University.
