Kirsten Marie Clemens is a 2009-10 Kenan Graduate Colloquium Fellow and a Ph.D. candidate in the English Department at Duke University. Her fields of study include American literature, history, and culture in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, youth culture, working class literature, and children and young adult literature. She is presently working on her dissertation, Freaks, Creeps, Geeks and a National Fear: Youth Tearing Up All You Hold Dear, which concerns Devil Child films.
